Course Number 1
Integrative Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis in Children
Atopic dermatitis is a hereditary skin disease that is common in children. Its atopic
characteristics are reflected in the familial tendency of patients to suffer from
asthma, allergic rhinitis, and eczema. Patients are allergic to foreign proteins and
have high serum IgE and eosinophilic levels in the blood. The causes of atopic skin are complex and are mostly related to patients’ immune regulation disorders, allergies,
etc.
Glucocorticoids are often used in the clinical treatment of atopic dermatitis, and the
therapeutic effect is good. However, long-term use of glucocorticoids can easily
cause adverse reactions such as skin atrophy and pigmentation, and the recurrence
rate of the disease is high after drug withdrawal. Traditional Chinese Medicine has
certain advantages in relieving the symptoms of this disease and is significantly
effective alongside specific Western medicine techniques. This course aims to provide
a strong reference for the clinical treatment of atopic dermatitis by studying the
effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment methods.
Course Number 2
External Herbal Preparations and Treatments in TCM Dermatology
External treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine are important
techniques to know for managing skin conditions. External herbal preparations
penetrate directly into the skin and begin clearing away heat and toxins,
dehumidifying and relieving itching, dispelling wind and dampness, cooling and
activating blood circulation, reducing swelling and pain, and warming and
relieving pain. Furthermore, external herbal preparations are non-invasive and
painless; by applying them directly to the skin, the medicine does not pass through
the stomach, intestines, or liver, and has no toxic or side effects.
This course explores the benefits of using granulated herbs for external treatment
of the most common skin conditions seen in daily clinical practice. The class will
teach practitioners the prescription structure, efficacy, indications, preparation
methods, and application methods of various external herbal preparations
including solutions, baths, powders, oils, and ointments.
